Book Club

I haven't posted a book review here on the blog in quite a while now. Oh well, there's no time like the present, right? Over the past few months, I have not been doing a good job of giving myself time to read which makes me sad because I absolutely love to read. Well, I take that back. I have been reading, just not fun books. I've been reading articles about pregnancy, babies, reviews of products for babies, etc. It's literally taken over my life. Oye vey. I promised myself that I was going to get back into reading for pleasure, and lately I have finally had the time to do so. Thanks to my insanely swollen pregnancy feet, I have to take time out of each day to sit down, elevate my feet and relax. This is not something I am good at. I especially hate propping my feet up, it makes me feel so antsy and trapped. However, I have found that the only way for me to successfully relax is to read while I do so. It keeps me distracted enough that I forget that I'm antsy and that I want to get up an move around. So now for an hour or two each day, my swollen feet get some relief and I get to enjoy some quality reading time. Win win.

I have finally finished a book that I have been trying to read for a little while now, which is the one I am reviewing today. This book has saved my swollen feet and forced me to sit down and relax.

Today I am sharing...

Here is a synopsis/review of the book from Amazon

Marriage can be a real killer.
One of the most critically acclaimed suspense writers of our time, New York Times bestseller Gillian Flynn takes that statement to its darkest place in this unputdownable masterpiece about a marriage gone terribly, terribly wrong. The Chicago Tribune proclaimed that her work “draws you in and keeps you reading with the force of a pure but nasty addiction.” Gone Girl’s toxic mix of sharp-edged wit and deliciously chilling prose creates a nerve-fraying thriller that confounds you at every turn.
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?
As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?
With her razor-sharp writing and trademark psychological insight, Gillian Flynn delivers a fast-paced, devilishly dark, and ingeniously plotted thriller that confirms her status as one of the hottest writers around.

My thoughts...

To say that this book is a psychological thriller is quite an understatement. It is dark and suspenseful in ways I could never have dreamed in my wildest imagination. It keeps you guessing and analyzing every single minute detail with the turn of each page. However, just when you think you have it figured out, each new twist in the story is more shocking than the last. There are so many clues and finite details to figure out the meaning and significance of and just when you think you have accomplished that, you find that those details simply cover up an even deeper meaning. I can't even begin to fathom how an author could write with so many complicated layers as Flynn did in this book. The main characters, husband and wife, are so complex and manipulative that you don't know whether to trust them, like them or hate them. My opinion of them changed constantly throughout the book. Just when I thought I had pinned down that character's personality or motive, another detail came along and changed my entire perspective. The story just became more intense and complicated as you peeled back each layer. I never in a million years could have predicted the ending of this book. In fact, when I first read it, I actually hated the ending. Then, the more I thought about the ending, the more I realized how brilliant it was. It's actually very difficult to articulate my reaction and comprehension of this book without spoiling it. Let's just say that when I came to the end and closed the book, I just sat there. Mind blown. This book turned out to be nothing like I expected, which is what I loved about it.

South America Hunt {Uruguay}

Jared and Chris' trip to South America continued with dove and perdiz hunting in Uruguay. Read about the first half of their trip through Argentina here - South America Hunt {Argentina}. They made the drive across the river into Uruguay in the afternoon and headed to their lodge in Ninette.

My brother has been known to take a pretty cool picture :)

Even though it was late in the afternoon, they couldn't give up the opportunity for a quick hunt of course.

The field where they went to hunt perdiz

Perdiz hunting is a lot like quail hunting here in the US, so you use a dog to point and retrieve the bird for you. They took out this French Brittany, named Rumba, on their hunt.

The owner of the lodge, Hector, came out in the field with them for the hunt in order to lead Rumba since she was trained with Spanish commands.

The kill from one of their many perdiz hunts

The view from the back porch of the lodge in Ninette...complete with infinity pool.

Inside the lodge in Ninette...pretty fancy for a hunting lodge, huh?

The guys spent a few afternoons fishing in the river behind the lodge

Time for some sunset dove hunting

There are so many birds flying over at one time that they look like stars in the sky...or something out of a Hitchcock movie.

During these hunts, they shoot so many rounds so quickly that they have to wear gloves because the gun gets too hot to hold. Sometimes they just have the bird boy hold two guns and rotate them. That way, he can be loading one gun while they are shooting the other one and then trade.

On this particular hunt, they shot about 200 doves in one hour. I know, insane. Now, you know why people fly all the way to South America for these hunts.

The guys had a great time on their trip and I'm sure it won't be too long before they return again. I'm so glad that my brother and my husband have developed an actual friendship beyond just being in-laws. It's so awesome that they have a close enough relationship to be willing to travel to a foreign country for 9 days together, not many in-laws can do that. Hunting was always something that my brother and my husband shared with my dad and it's such a blessing for me that even though my dad is gone, Chris and Jared can still share that special bond of hunting buddies.

South America Hunt {Argentina}

Today's blog post has absolutely nothing to do with me (for once). Don't worry, I didn't secretly go on vacation to South America without telling y'all. This post is all about my brother and my husband. I'm writing about it because I like the pictures and I just happen to think that this was a really cool experience worth sharing.

Warning: Many, many animals were harmed in the making of this blog post. Therefore, if you have a strong emotional or moral dilemma with the killing of animals then you should probably go ahead and click your way on out of here. It's just birds though. No puppies or kittens or anything on the endangered species list. However, the birds are not wasted and actually benefit the local community, I promise.

My brother, Chris, has probably the coolest man job ever. He takes people on international hunting and fishing trips. See, I told you it was cool. On a daily basis, he mostly organizes and sends people on the trips his company offers, but a few times throughout the year he does actually get to travel on some of the trips. His company sends people on trips all over the world, but my brother specializes in the South America trips. Even though you are going out to the middle of nowhere in South America to hunt or fish, the lodging and the experience is 1st class. So if you have a special sportsman in your life who you are in need of a gift idea for, my brother and his company, Trek International Safaris, can get you set up. My brother also does a lot of photography for the company, so you should go to their website and check out his pictures.

Ever since my brother started working for Trek, my husband has been dying to go on one of their trips. Earlier this year, Jared approached me with the idea. I figured that he might as well go now before we start a family and get bogged down with all that life stuff. So last month, Jared left me for 9 days and embarked on this South American adventure with my brother as his guide. If you know my brother well, you know that this was a rather terrifying pill for me to swallow. My parting words with the boys before they left for the airport, "Please don't get thrown into jail. I really don't want to have to wire money to the government in Argentina or Uruguay to get you back." Luckily, they made it back safely with plenty of stories to share.

My husband wrote down what they did each day of their trip (good to know I'm finally rubbing off on him after being together for 7 years), which makes writing this blog post a lot easier, but I will spare you from all the story-telling so we're not here forever. I am splitting this trip into two posts as well, one for each country they traveled to. Starting here with Argentina...

Chris and Jared took an overnight flight to Buenos Aires and didn't waste any time when they landed in Argentina. They drove straight to the first lodge in Monte Laguna for an afternoon duck hunt immediately after stepping off the plane.

This hour and twenty minute hunt resulted in 32 ducks with a mixture of speckled teal and white checked pintails. Not your average duck hunt back here in the states.

In Argentina, they do not use dogs to retrieve their ducks like we do here in the states. They walk around and pick them up themselves or they use the "bird boys". The bird boys are local young guys who work with you on your hunt. They are essentially like a golf caddy, but for hunting. They carry your shotgun shells and retrieve your birds for you. They do get paid for their work, but they also get paid in birds. Everything that is killed on these hunts is donated to the bird boys to take home to their families to either eat or sell in the market.

Jared in one of the hunting lodges in Argentina

The kill from one of their morning hunts...another 32 ducks in only 45 minutes. In case you weren't already aware of this fun fact, the seasons in the Southern hemisphere are backwards from what they are here in America. So even though the guys went on this trip in June, it was actually winter in Argentina.

My brother managed to kill these two ducks with one shot. When the ducks fly over the ponds in Argentina, they are in such a dense abundance that it is very common to kill a vast number in a short amount of time. It's not a matter of how many ducks are available to shoot, its a matter of how fast you can reload your gun.

Coming up next...Part II of their trip takes us over the river and into Uruguay.

Men and Cocktails

Have you ever noticed that you can tell a lot about a man by the type of cocktail he chooses to drink? Back when I was single and in college, my best friend and I would totally judge every man in the bar by what he was drinking. If a guy came up to us to flirt, the drink in his hand was usually the determining factor as to whether we were going to be polite and at least cordial enough to say hello or if we were going to laugh in his face and walk away.

Say a guy approaches with a beer in his hand, he at least deserves a polite hello. If he's holding a whiskey, even better. That guy would probably get a full conversation out of us. If we're at a nice bar and he's holding a scotch, we're probably already planning out our wedding vows. On the other hand, if he's holding anything brightly colored or mixed with vodka, he should expect to be laughed at, made fun of and told to go f**k off.

The inspiration for this blog post comes from the book I'm reading, "50 Shades of Grey". I simply can't get over the fact that the author of this book has made Christian Grey's signature cocktail white wine. What a horrendous choice for his character. What kind of man drinks white wine? I'll tell you what kind...a sissy one. White wine is by far the last thing I would ever expect a character like Christian Grey to be drinking. Even red wine would have been a much more acceptable choice. I could also see him drinking like a dirty martini or something; however, the best choice would obviously have been scotch. Perfect example for those of you who watch Gossip Girl...Chuck Bass drinks scotch, need I say more?

Thus leading me to my main point here. What a man's cocktail tells you about him...

White wine - I'm either holding this for my girlfriend while she's in the bathroom or I'm not a real man.

Vodka - same a white wine...or I like to pretend that I'm staring in a rap video being filmed in South Beach

Dirty Martini - the only acceptable reason for a man to drink out of a martini glass simply because James Bond drinks one

Rum - I'm either still in high school or going to a Jimmy Buffett concert

Margarita - only acceptable at Mexican restaurants or on Cinco de Mayo

Beer - I'm planning on drinking for many hours today and I've adopted the mentality that drinking is a marathon not a sprint. I'm taking it easy tonight, I don't feel like blowing a bunch of money, or I'm the designated driver.

Whiskey - I'm a real man's man. They write country music songs about guys like me.

Scotch - the cocktail that screams money, power and class

So next time you head out to the bar, be sure you keep this advice in mind when choosing a man to waste your time on. Trust me, that guy with the vodka cranberry does not know how to do squat. I promise you he won't be able to satisfy your spider-killing/flat-tire-changing/toilet-unclogging needs...or any of your other needs for that matter. Oh my, that was inappropriate...my bad :)

Football vs. Wedding

Football season is a really big deal in my household. Like really big. In fact, I think it might be the most important season of the year. So when it came time for Jared and I to start planning our wedding, he had one stipulation...not during football season. Being a football fan myself, this was an obvious choice. Alas, we were married on May 16th. Yesterday, I came across an article online that literally made me laugh out loud. I guarantee that my husband (and I) would agree 100% with this article and if any of you ladies are planning on marrying a football fan, then I highly recommend that you take this into consideration...

Avoid Being A Horrible Person:
Your College Football Fall Wedding Guide

By Jason Kirk - College Football Editor (SB Nation)

There's almost never an excuse to have a fall wedding on a Saturday, but if circumstances have left you with no other option, there are still worse Saturdays than others to spend at a wedding.

Here's your complete guide to scheduling a fall wedding: do not ever do it.

Fine, a little more detail. Don't have it on a Saturday in the fall.

If you must have it on a Saturday in the fall, don't live in the South, Midwest, Texas or anywhere else specifically afflicted with the college football condition. Having a fall Saturday wedding in Massachusetts is probably for the best.

But let's say you're stuck with putting on a wedding in the fall. I won't pry into why you've set yourself up like this. We're not here to judge anything other than what a bad person you are.

Now that you've made a mistake, please, please try to proceed with football in mind from this point on. Because you still have to pick a specific Saturday, and certain Saturdays are better than others. This isn't to say that picking the worst college football Saturday is acceptable. Not by any means. Your guests will grumble, huddle around phones, smuggle a TV or just straight up run away.

Last year, I made it out of a fall Saturday wedding for a lifelong friend in 23 minutes, catching up on LSU-Auburn on the way out with a local matriarch who was also leaving early. SB Nation associates were wowed when I declared, "brb wedding," and returned shortly after, but it's a required skill around these parts.

This shit is serious. But you can at least contain the damage by accounting for football.

Take SBNation.com's NFL editor Joel Thorman for example. He's also the founder and editor of Arrowhead Pride, the undisputed best Kansas City Chiefs site. So he needed to arrange his fall wedding to mitigate football losses, even if the only football taken into account was mere pro football.

"The NFL controls bye weeks, but teams can request weeks off," the crafty villain says. "The Chiefs usually request the weekend of the NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway. I planned my wedding that weekend and got lucky when the schedule came out."

The Chiefs' bye is on the third Saturday in October this year, which would make Thorman fit for frying if he tried this in the mid-South. When asked whether the fact that nearby Mizzou is also off that weekend makes him feel any less guilty, Thorman replied, "I guess a little."

(He does not appear to feel guilty whatsoever about any of this.)

But the point remains. If a fall wedding is in the cards, arrange your hand so that you miss the least amount of critical football possible. Therefore, here we have this fall's Saturdays ranked from really bad wedding dates to a couple of the worst possible wedding dates ever.

Note! This isn't a ranking of the weeks as a whole, but just the Saturdays. If you're requiring a multi-day wedding event in the fall, I cannot save you.

1. December 8
The Army-Navy Game. America shouldn't have to send you its gift registry for just a little of your attention once a year, but go ahead and have your wedding if you maybe don't like freedom.

However, FCS playoff action abounds, and your loved ones will have to figure out what that looks like by 2014 one way or another.

2. September 8
A wedding is about the joining together of two families. Have we got the perfect replacement, then: the SEC family absorbing the Missouri and Texas A&M families. With the big out-of-conference games done and most conference action still ahead, this is pretty much your only decent chance for the rest of the year.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Georgia-Missouri, Washington-LSU, Florida-Texas A&M, Penn State-Virginia, Iowa State-Iowa

3. December 1
Conference championship day, plus the second round of the FCS playoffs. But with the Pac-12 game on Friday, we can consider this a window. A really, really slim one.

4. September 29
When conservatives talk about protecting the sanctity of marriage, I assume they're talking about making sure everyone can watch Mike Leach coach against Chip Kelly and Urban Meyer take on maybe the Big Ten's best defense. Can't imagine any other political issue that would have anything to do with marriage.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Ohio State-Michigan State, Arkansas-Texas A&M, Texas-Oklahoma State, Oregon-Washington State, Wisconsin-Nebraska

5. September 15
Significant rivalry action is underway, which means it's far too late to squeeze an acceptable wedding into this season. I'm sorry, but you're now getting married outdoors in July. Linens are recommended.

(Also, I won't list this one among the best games, but can you imagine how cruel you'll feel if you prevent your family from watching Wake Forest beat FSU again?)

Five games your wedding is less important than: Alabama-Arkansas, USC-Stanford, Notre Dame-Michigan State, BYU-Utah, Florida-Tennessee

6. September 22
Brady Hoke seems like a man who'd tell you he prefers a small, traditional wedding, but by the time he's got it all set up, a flamenco band is performing in the nude for thousands from within a Golden Corral chocolate fountain. (You should entrust your wedding to Brady Hoke.)

Five games your wedding is less important than: Michigan-Notre Dame, LSU-Auburn, Clemson-Florida State, Kansas State-Oklahoma, Missouri-South Carolina

7. November 10
College football's best possible wedding crasher duo: Mike Gundy and Dana Holgorsen, yes?

Five games your wedding is less important than: Arkansas-South Carolina, West Virginia-Oklahoma State, Georgia-Auburn, Texas A&M-Alabama, Kansas State-TCU

8. October 6
I left out at least three games here that would've been instant additions to one of the weaker Saturdays, so it's safe to say we've entered the terrible vibes portion of the list. You will get gift cards to Kohl's, which only sells XL Makaveli Branded shirts and purple Clemson flip flops.

Five games your wedding is less important than: West Virginia-Texas, Georgia-South Carolina, Nebraska-Ohio State, LSU-Florida, Washington-Oregon

9. November 17
The impending marriage of Lane Kiffin and Jim Mora surpasses any entertainment you would be able to line up anyway.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Oklahoma-West Virginia, Ohio State-Wisconsin, USC-UCLA, Stanford-Oregon, Iowa-Michigan

10. October 13
Unless you're prepared to serve an entire fried reception, including fried cake and a fried first dance, you probably shouldn't try and pull people away from the Red River Shootout Rivalry Shootout.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Oklahoma-Texas, Stanford-Notre Dame, Alabama-Missouri, USC-Washington, South Carolina-LSU

11. October 20
If you are brave enough to schedule matrimony on a Saturday that's had its own name for decades, be prepared to distribute victory cigars to any survivors.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Alabama-Tennessee, Michigan State-Michigan, LSU-Texas A&M, Penn State-Iowa, Virginia Tech-Clemson (and a rematch of the game that killed the BCS)

12. October 27
The punishment for scheduling an event of any sort during the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party should be having to attend next year's World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Florida-Georgia, Ohio State-Penn State, Michigan State-Wisconsin, Notre Dame-Oklahoma, Michigan-Nebraska

13. November 3
We'll assume you've had a major family hardship this year if you're insisting on this particular date. I'm sorry for your loss, and Grandma June wedding will be dearly missed.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Alabama-LSU, Oregon-USC, TCU-West Virginia, Missouri-Florida, Oklahoma State-Kansas State

14. September 1
Depriving your loved ones of the finest opening day in sports is one thing, but this is going to be an especially great opening day, starting with Notre Dame-Navy in Dublin at 9 a.m. ET. West coasters have to start drinking by like 5 in the morning. Dozens of fan bases enter Sept. 1 with mathematically reasonable championship hopes.

This day is everything. I'm serious. Do not trifle with this day, unless most of your family went to Maryland.

Five games your wedding is less important than: Alabama-Michigan, Auburn-Clemson, Notre Dame-Navy, Urban Meyer's Ohio State debut, Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech, Rich Rodriguez' return, even Indiana is undefeated, Matt Barkley being wonderful, why can't you just let people besides you be happy?

15. November 24
ARE YOU TRYING TO GET SOMEBODY MAIMED?

Games your wedding is less important than: ALL, ABSOLUTELY ALL, YOU DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'RE DOING

After all that, you've really got to be high to think a wedding during bowl season will go unchallenged, and the BCS title game is followed by the beginning and end of the NFL year and National Signing Day, all of which leads into March Madness.

As always, May and June are the only acceptable wedding months, and if there's too much competition for those dates among your social circle next year, you're going to have to wait until 2014. This is all for your own good.

I hope you learned a lot. If you have already planned for a fall wedding, then go ahead and swallow your pride and make sure that there is a TV available somewhere at the reception. However, if you really want to make your husband happy, then don't get married in the fall. If your husband doesn't care whether your wedding conflicts with football season, then don't marry him. Just kidding...ok, maybe I'm not kidding :)

DIY Yard Makeover

Single ladies of the world, do not ever marry a man who is not capable of doing "manly" things around the house. If he doesn't know how to do yard work, fix basic household problems or use tools...get rid of him, stat. This is an important lesson I learned at a very young age. As a kid, I never remember having someone else come to "fix" things at our house. If anything needed to be done around the house/yard/cars, my dad always took care of it. Yes, my dad is a custom home builder so he knows how to do some things that the average man might not, but I'm just talking about the basics. I always knew that when I got married, my husband needed to have these "handy" qualities. Why should I have to pay a plumber to come fix a clogged toilet when I have a husband at home? Just like men say that a woman's "job" at home is to cook, clean, do laundry, etc...I think it is the man's job to do the yard and fix stuff.

All that being said, I chose wisely because my husband is capable of doing all kinds of "handyman" stuff. Toilet clogged? He fixed it. Needed shelving installed in the garage? He did it. I wanted a patio built in the backyard? He did it. So of course when our latest home improvement project came about, he wanted to do it all himself. God bless him. I can fully appreciate his DIY motivation because I am quite the DIY queen myself. Why should I buy something/pay someone to do something when I can do it just a good myself? This brings me to our latest home improvement project...re-sodding the backyard.

Our poor backyard has been through quite a bit in the last 3 years...freezes, heat waves, broken irrigation, etc. Not to mention the fact that my dogs run around the yard like they are at Daytona International Speedway. Long story short - our yard was torn up. Not only was the yard unsightly, but there were areas where grass did not grow and it was just straight dirt. Large dirt areas + rain + dogs = mud all over my house. This called for a massive yard makeover in the sod department.

Last weekend, Jared began the task of cutting up all of the old, dead sod and weeds which was quite the undertaking. He tore up 1,000 square feet of our back yard all on his own.

Yes, my husband built the paver patio that you see in this photo. Told you he's awesome :)

On Friday, the sod company delivered 1,000 square feet of sod to our driveway. One of our neighbors came over and asked, "Hey, are y'all putting down some new sod?" We responded, "Yep, in the backyard." How I wanted to respond..."Nope, we just thought it made for a nice decoration in the driveway." As Jeff Foxworthy would say, "Here's your sign."

After all the old, dead stuff was torn up, it was time to prep the area for the new sod...

Jared was in charge of transporting all the sod from the driveway to the backyard, while my dad raked the entire area to make for a nice even surface and I put down the fertilizer. Yes, I actually helped with this project and by "helped" I do mean that I did more than simply supervising and drinking beer. There was beer involved of course because I only do yard work under one condition...that I get to drink beer while I do it. It keeps me hydrated :)

Digging up the old sod is by far the worst part. Laying down the new sod is hard work and time consuming, but the progress is definitely more rewarding. Luckily, there were three of us so this process went a lot faster than Jared had originally anticipated because he had intended on doing the entire thing himself. Side note: a piece of sod is actually pretty heavy, especially when you single-handedly lay about 500 square feet of it. Yes, I am bragging about my accomplishments...mostly because I despise yard work and was proud of myself for actually participating in this endeavor. A few hours later, our back yard went from what you see above, to this...

My hubby, admiring the accomplishment from all of his hard work...

Our yard looks beautiful and we did it on our own for about half the price of what it would have cost for someone to come do it for us. Let's just cross our fingers that the dogs and this Florida heat don't mess it up. Oh the joys of home-ownership. Now our yard is all ready for some outdoor summer fun!

Hall Pass

I know that there are a lot of girlfriends/wives out there who hardly ever let their men out of their sight. However, every now and then they reward their guy with what has been recently coined as a "hall pass", which is essentially a boys night out. I pretty much let my husband go hang out with his friends whenever he wants to because #1: who am I to tell him what he is and is not allowed to do...he's an adult and it's not like I'm his parole officer or something. And #2: I genuinely enjoy spending time by myself. I have never been a needy or dependent type of girl. I really do like being alone. A night out with the boys for him = wine, chick flicks, painting my nails and browsing Pinterest without feeling guilty about ignoring him. Saturday morning golf/hunting/fishing outings (depending on the season) are my favorite time to catch up on my blogging or reading while working on my tan. Now I'm not going to lie, do I occasionally get pissed about him leaving me at home alone, yes. However, that doesn't occur very often and it usually has something to do with the dogs annoying me to death while I'm trying to enjoy my peace and quiet.

I know that you will all probably hate me for saying this, but you need to give your man a break. Dealing with women is a pain and I'm sure they get sick of trying to please us 24/7...so let them go out and have some testosterone-induced fun. Trust me, I don't even like dealing with women for long periods of time, and I understand us, so I can only imagine how they must feel. Are my feelings about boys night out all going to change once we have kids? Probably. But until then, I'll let him enjoy it.

I found this on the internet and thought that it was too funny not to share. This one is for all girlfriends/wives out there who are not as big a fan of boys night out as I am...

Maybe this weekend you should try giving your man a hall pass. I bet he would appreciate it :)

You Know You're a Frat Wife If...

My dear friend and fellow fraternity wife Christina has posted something on her blog that her and I created together. My husband and Christina's husband are fraternity brothers, best friends, each other's Best Man and former Kappa Sigma chapter presidents...meaning we pretty much married the same person just in two different bodies.

Every time we get together we make little jokes about the funny things that happen in our lives simply because we married frat guys. So she decided that we should make a list of all the things that happen when you are married to a frat guy. We texted these little scenarios back and forth all day today and she has combined them all into a list.

Please visit her blog for You Know You're a Frat Wife If... by Christina McGuire and Jacki Roche

If you are planning on marrying a frat guy someday...here is what you have to look forward to :)
