Here is what you will need:
Fresh mozzarella
Grape tomatoes
Balsamic vinegar
Fresh basil leaves
4" Skewers
Make sure you get the mozzarella that is in water because it stays fresher. Also, don't get a big block of mozzarella, get the mozzarella that is already in little balls. If you are going to Publix, you can get the exact one pictured above in the "fancy cheese" section in the deli.
Each kabob will require 1 skewer, 1 basil leaf, 1 mozzarella ball and 1 tomato. The container of mozzarella that I used had 20 little balls in it so I made 20 skewers. Keep this in mind when planning this dish for a party. The average person will eat more than one of these kabobs.
Cut the mozzarella in half, the tomato in half and the basil leaf into thirds.
Repeat the process until you have used all your ingredients and then arrange the kabobs on a platter.
The last step is sprinkling balsamic vinegar all over the kabobs. If you are making these ahead of time, hold off on the balsamic until you are about to serve them so they don't get soggy. Balsamic has a very strong taste so do not drench the kabobs in it. Just carefully sprinkle it all over so that each kabob gets a little bit on top. Enjoy!
