Back to School

Happy Monday! Today is my first day back to work for the new school year, which means a couple of things...

#1. I won't be able to blog as much anymore...I know sad face. I'll do my best to update regularly, but unfortunately blogging is no longer my number one priority, boo. Back to the real world.

#2. A new blog template! I just love my new blog background, it's so back-to-school festive. I can't stand having the same blog template all the time so I change it per season or holiday. Don't worry you'll only have to look at this one for about 2 weeks until I get sick of it :)

#3. Lots of fun blogs about what I'm doing in my classroom. A lot of people say that I missed my calling as an elementary school teacher because my classroom is always so festive and my students do so many creative projects and crafts. Even though I teach middle school, my students still do a lot of assignments involving art supplies. I can't help it, I'm left-handed (which means that I'm right brained); therefore, I am much better and teaching and learning in a creative way.

I'm actually really excited for this school year to get started. I love teaching and I think that I have such a fun job. I honestly believe that I enjoy my job so much because I get so into it. Like last year when my school was celebrating Literacy Week and I came to school dressed up as Hermione from Harry Potter...

Yes, I literally taught all my classes for the entire day with my wand dressed up as Hermione. But what better way to get my students talking and excited about their favorite characters from a book, than by dressing up as my own favorite character. Ok, so maybe I should be teaching elementary school.

Do you get to dress up as Harry Potter characters at your office? Or go on field trips to the zoo? Of course not, that's why I have the best job ever :)

I can't wait to meet all my new students next week! This week will be spent getting my classroom and our curriculum all ready to go. Have no fear, I will definitely post pictures of my classroom once it is all set up. The first thing I am going to do today is hang up my new sign...

Have a great week! Best wishes to all of you who are going back to school or have kids going back to school soon, make it a great school year!
