Scrapbook Flashback

The other day I went over to my parents' house to see if I left some of my old scrapbooking stuff in my old closet and I stumbled upon my Phi Mu scrapbook. Every year we had to use a scrapbook during recruitment as one of our "rushing tools". However, I didn't rush girls during my senior year because I was President so I had no motivation to continue on with my scrapbook. Meaning that my scrapbook is only completed through sophomore year. I keep saying that I am going to finish it, but I never get around to it. As I was going through it looking at the pictures, I just kept laughing hysterically and wondering, "what were we thinking?". This scrapbook is just too humorous not to share.

Brace yourself, this post is going to be long but most definitely entertaining. Remember you can click on the pictures to make them bigger, but I would honestly rather you not because these pages are rather embarrassing.

Here is the scrapbook itself...yes, it is covered in fabric with painted wooden letters...it's a sorority scrapbook, what else would you expect?

The title page...complete with a photo of me looking gross on Bid Day...good photo choice Jacki.

Ok, section 1 of the scrapbook...freshman year. Get ready to have a laugh at my expense, but before you judge too harshly remember, I was a freshman.

Bid Day - it was sweltering hot and raining and our bid day shirts were orange...orange, seriously?

My big sister, Jennia!

Crush was our first big social event of the fall...do me a favor and skip over these photos, they are simply embarrassing...who let me leave my dorm room looking like this?

Tool Time social...this was my very first social, it was with TEP

Sisterhood Retreat in St. Augustine

I'm kind of disappointed in myself with this scrapbook page...really, this was the best I could do?

Parent's Weekend...I wonder whatever happened to that big welcome banner hanging on the front of the house...this was the last event I ever remember seeing it at

My family...the lovely pink costumes are from big sis revealing...they aren't allowed to do it this way anymore because it's considered hazing...oops :)

Our Philanthropy - Grandslam

My 1st year at Dance Marathon...I did it all 4 years...I know, I'm crazy

Hayride...aka: the best date function ever before they got rid of it because it was "too dangerous"...how is drunk people in the woods riding a mechanical bull dangerous? oh yeah, that's probably pretty accurate.

St. Patrick's Day 2006...aka: the day that I met my husband...there's a picture of Jared and I from the day we met on this scrapbook page! awww :)

Random pictures...probably should have pulled my shirt down in that top left photo rather than exposing my entire stomach...good move Jacki.

Oh Semiformal...this date function was a train wreck like no other. People passed out all over the tables, one of Jared's fraternity brothers got arrested...it was just a classy evening.

The end of the freshman year section, thank goodness. I don't think I could stand anymore hideous photos of myself.

And the fun continues in the next section of the scrapbook, sophomore year. These photos and outfits are a little better and by better, I mean less painful. Enjoy!

2006 Panhellenic Recruitment

My little, Elisa!

Winter Formal...please excuse the prom-style photo

Dance Marathon year 2...the year I made Casey participate...I think she wanted to murder me

Grandslam...I was Kappa Sigma's bat girl...obviously :)

And that is where the Phi Mu scrapbook ends...I know, sad face. Oh how I enjoy a trip down memory lane. I really need to scrapbook junior and senior year, maybe that can be my next scrapbooking project!

  1. Why do I feel like my GG had something to do with picking out your outfit in for the crush?

  4. bahahahaha I had NOTHING to do with Jacki's ever present stomach being out Freshmen year. That would be like her being responsible for my boobs constantly threatening the lives of children during sophomore year.
